Thuria and Beyond
An ancient, powerful, demonic and apparently immortal gnoll, Yeenoghu lies entombed (but alive) in the ruins of his palace in the city of Veka-Kusa in the dry, stony wastes of cental Anshan. Gnolls continue to venerate Yeenoghu as their supposed creator and their more fanatical and learned priests are seeking to wake the old demon from his slumber.
Yeenoghu combines the worst features of a gnoll and demon in one immense form. Standing 12 feet tall, his body is gaunt and lanky, and patches of yellow fur stained with brown spots cover him. Leprous gray skin and suppurating wounds mar his body, revealing the corruption of his flesh and spirit. In combat, Yeenoghu deploys his Triple Flail, an evil weapon constructed from the bones of a powerful enemy he slew long ago. The structure in which this ancient horror remain entombed is a mere fragment of what was once an extraordinary contraption, a giant palace on rollers which used to be dragged from place to place by vast legions of enslaved humans working alongside powerful horses and other beasts of burden.
